The Self Help Books That Actually HELP
Happy Monday!!! I’m keeping this week’s newsletter short as I had a busy week but I am going to be sharing some GOLD!
I was never much of a reader until I found books that were easy to read and didn’t require me to look up definitions of words (**cough cough** my Philosophy textbooks). Whether you’re an avid reader or you haven’t picked up a book this year, I promise you these books will CHANGE YOUR LIFE! I know everyone says that about self-help books but I mean it.
Here are my top 4 self-help books that don’t require much brain power:

This book is the easiest read ever! It is Kamal Ravikant’s life story + all of his best self-help tips to gain confidence, grow as an individual, practice meditation, and ultimately love yourself. I got my mirror exercises that were talked about in last week’s edition from this book! I still use the practices from this book daily, it truly is so relatable, it doesn’t make you feel stupid while reading it, and I finished it in 2 days. 10/10 recommend everyone to read this cutesy little book!

I cannot rave about this book enough!! Shoutout to my best friend Enjay for recommending this book for me, it truly changed my life when it came to building meaningful relationships, romantically and platonically. This book goes over every attachment style that we as humans adopt and provides prompts that you can fill in about your life and offer solutions to your relationship problems. After reading this book, I became more self-aware, more open to the idea of a relationship, less avoidant, less anxious, and I found my boyfriend just a few weeks after finishing this book. My friend Enjay, who mailed me this book, also recommended it to other people and they had the exact same experience whether that was ending a toxic relationship or getting into a healthy new one after reading this book. If you haven't read this book yet, this is something you need to read if you are struggling with your dating life or struggling with building long-lasting relationships with anyone.

This book is a little bit more philosophical, but it has so many gems in it! I couldn't stop underlining and highlighting everything throughout this book. It also was around 120 pages, which made it very easy to read. This book goes over visualizing, manifestation, meditation, learning how to live a joyful life, training your mind, and putting your energy towards all of the positive things in life. This book truly gives you the blueprint on how to manifest your best life. I honestly didn't believe in manifestation and visualization until I read this book and I like to reread it every once in a while to remind myself of all of the amazing things that I am capable of! If you are slightly philosophical or want to tap into it this is a great way to start learning about your mentality in a philosophical way.

My therapist recommended this book for me and it has 365 days worth of morning meditations to start your day. Each page is dated and has a different reading that could either be a few sentences or 1 to 2 pages long. I like to read these every morning to start my day with a little bit of self-help! I have recommended this book to so many people and a lot of my friends like to journal along with it to start their days. It truly is an amazing way to get little tidbits about life that are actually meaningful and hold a lot of value.
Thank you so much for reading this week’s edition and I'm sorry again that it was short! Please let me know if you end up reading any of these books, I promise I would never tell you about a book unless I truly thought that it could help you as much as it helped me!! I went from never reading to falling in love with it by finding books like these, that were relatable, lighthearted, informational, and, of course, easier to read. I hope all have an amazing week and I'll see you next Monday! 💚
